A Legacy of Generosity
How Rex & Angie Have Transformed Lives in Kenya
At Light Up Hope (LUH), we are immensely grateful for the unwavering support of our donors and advocates, whose commitment and generosity make our mission possible. Today, we want to shine a spotlight on Angie and Rex, a wonderful couple who have been part of the LUH family for several years.
Meet Angie and Rex
Angie and Rex, originally from California, have called Colorado home for the past 11 years. They are proud parents to three children, aged 21, 18, and 10. Their journey with LUH began in 2016 and 2017 when they sponsored two children who were the same age as their own at the time. Their experience was deeply meaningful and left a lasting impact on their hearts.
Why Angie and Rex Support LUH
Angie and Rex’s involvement in foster care over the years has shaped their passion for helping children and families. They’ve provided infant foster care, which gave them a firsthand understanding of the importance of keeping families together whenever possible. This aligns closely with LUH’s mission of supporting vulnerable children by empowering families and local communities.
When Angie and Rex first learned about LUH, they were drawn to its commitment to breaking the cycle of poverty and its innovative approach to addressing challenges. They particularly appreciate the organization’s focus on family preservation and community-led decision-making.
What They Love About LUH
Angie and Rex’s support for LUH stems from their love for its core values:
Family Preservation: They are passionate about LUH’s focus on keeping children with their families whenever possible, recognizing the profound impact this has on children’s emotional and social well-being.
Community Empowerment: They value that the decision-making power lies with the people on the ground in the communities LUH serves. This ensures culturally sensitive and sustainable solutions.
Breaking the Cycle of Poverty: Angie and Rex believe in LUH’s approach to creating lasting change by addressing the root causes of poverty through education, resources, and family support.
A Heartfelt Thank You
We are honored to have Angie and Rex as part of the Light Up Hope family. Their dedication to fostering hope and empowering families inspires us all. Thank you, Angie and Rex, for your continued support and for believing in the power of keeping families together.
